AHG Campout

Aug 11 - 13 is the campout at Emigrant Springs. I have sent an email out to everyone regarding the details. If you did not receive an email please let me know. I need to have everyone interested in going respond by Monday Aug 6th. The cost is $25.00 per person and that includes your food and entrance into the aquatic center. We will need some parents to help also.
We are going to have a lot of fun. You don’t want to miss this!!

Religious Award

This badge is for anyone who wants to do a bible study. It is through the PRAY program. Each girl will need to purchase a book for their age group and a parent will need one too to help them. Each book is around $3.00. I will have a sign up sheet at each meeting for anyone interested or you can email me. Stefanie Jones (my3jones@charter.net). WHAT EXTRA BADGES WILL YOU EARN BY JUNE?

We need to get a tenative count of any badges that your daughters earned outside of our AHG meetings by February 23rd.

This does not include the Social Skill & Ettiquette Badge or the Dance Badge.

If you think your daughter will earn a particular badge by June please us know so we can send in a badge intention form to assure us headquarters will have the badges we need at our Court of Awards Ceremony on June 8th.

Please e-mail me at beanjarr4@charter.net or write it down on the Badge Intention Form that will be at the February 16th and February 23rd meeting.
Each extra badge will cost an additional $3.00/badge but we will not be collecting the $ until May which is when we place our ceremony badge order.

The American Heritage Girls go to the ballet March 11 or 12th !

On March 11 & 12th the Mid-Columbia Regional Ballet is performing The Jungle Book and other Ballets at Richland High auditorium.

We would like to go together since we are working on the dance badge. We get a group discount which makes tickets cost $4.50 for students and $9.00 for adults. These are the unreserved seats. Reserved seats are $13.50 for adults and $9.00 for students/ children. We will start a sign up and collect money on February 16th and February 23rd. The deadline for letting us know if your daugther and other family members want to go is Thursday March 2nd.

The Saturday, March 11th performance is at 7:00 pm
The Sunday, March 12th performance is at 2:00 pm

You can let us know which one works the best for you.
Maybe we will have a group going to each performance.

Scottish Dance Celebration–February 16th-Also BRING YOUR VESTS

The girls have been learning Scottish country dancing from Mr. and Mrs. Patton. On February 16th we will have a Scottish Dance Party. The older girls learned a type of dance and the younger girls learned another particular dance. On the 16th they will show the other group what they have learned. Then they will all dance together as the older girls teach the younger girls a new dance. Any parents that want observe what they have learned is welcome to come and watch. If you come 15-20 minutes early you will be able to watch the dancing. You are welcome to come the whole time if you would like. You are always welcome at any meeting.

PLEASE SEND ALL VESTS- SEVERAL SERVICE STARS HAVE NOT BEEN SEWN ON FROM LAST YEAR.

IF YOU DAUGHTER WAS IN THE TROOP LAST YEAR SHE PROBABLY EARNED A SERVICE STAR.
WE HAVE THE STARS AND WOULD LIKE TO GIVE THEM TO YOUR DAUGHTERS.
THERE WILL BE A SEWING MACHINE AND SOMEONE SEWING THEM ON AT OUR FEBRUARY 16TH MEETING
STARS THAT WERE EARNED THIS YEAR WILL BE GIVEN AT OUR END OF THE YEAR CEREMONY IN JUNE

VETERANS PARADE UPDATE

Friday November 4th
Decorating the flatbed is from 4:00-6:00 at the Whitmans. The address is 2730 Van Giesen Street. Please bring patriotic items that will decorate a flatbed with hay bales. Silk flowers that we can stick in the hay, balloons, streamers , swags, etc would be wonderful.

Saturday November 5th
We would like the girls to arrive at 9:00. This is a change from the previous announcment. The parade starts at 9:30. Check in at the Benton REA Community Room , 6095 W. Van Giesen to locate our group. The parade is 1.2 miles. Pick up your daughters at the Brick House Pizza parking lot at 3791 Van Giesen after the parade.

Please wear:
Uniform
Layered clothes to keep warm
jacket
hats & mittens if needed
bring two bags of candy
blankets for your lap

Veterans Day Parade

Friday-Nov-4-Decorate the float at the Whitmans
2730 Van Geisen St., W. Richland
BRING: red, white and blue streamers, balloons and anything else to help decorate. It is a
flat bed trailer with hay on it and we will pull it with a truck during the parade.
Time-TBD later

Saturday-Nov 5-Meet about 8 A.M. near parade route.
Bring: Each girl will bring 2 bags of non-breakable
candy, uniform, warm clothes, water bottle and a SMILE!

Parents welcome to ride along on float or walk. Parade route is approxiamtely 1.2 miles.

Hi everyone,

If you want a penpal please get your PenPal form into me along with $5 by Thursday, October 20th. If you haven’t received a form you may get one from me at our AHG meetings.

Also, there is a “new parent/question meeting October 13th at Grace in the fellowship hall from 5:00-5:30. If you would like to ask questions about the program please come and we’ll discuss how the AHG program works.

Your daughters will be bringing home a flyer with information concerning the Veterans Day parade that is on Saturday November 5th. Please read it and we hope to see you there. We will be decorating the our float on Friday Nov 4th. We need red/white/blue decorations.

The new uniforms and handbooks are here and will be passed out at our October meeting tomorrow.

Parent Informations Meeting

A Parent Informational/Registration meeting will be at Grace United Reformed Church from 4:00-5:30 on September 8th. Parents, please come and hear what we have planned for the 2005-2006 AHG year. You will be able to register your girls during this meeting. Girls are welcome as there will be activites planned for them during the meeting. Please call Tonya Davis with any questions: 734-9392.
